False Sales Rampant on Secondhand Platforms
Beware of Accounts Under the Name Kim ○ho
As the excitement of the professional baseball postseason heats up, 'ticket scams' are becoming increasingly rampant.
The Daegu Police Agency has urged citizens to exercise special caution, noting a recent surge in ticket scam cases centered around online secondhand trading platforms such as Junggonara and Danggeun Market.
According to the police, scammers post messages claiming to transfer postseason tickets, then receive money through a bank account under the name Kim ○ho, starting with Daegu Bank 527, without actually delivering the tickets.
Victims have reported financial losses and psychological distress, as they are either unable to contact the seller after making payment or are only provided with false tracking numbers.
The Daegu Police Agency advised, "When trading tickets, always use official reservation channels such as Interpark or the KBO official mall. If a direct transaction between individuals is unavoidable, be sure to verify the seller's real name and account information. Before making any payment, check the account history using scam account lookup services like The Cheat, and use safe payment methods whenever possible."
Kim Byungwoo, Chief of the Daegu Police Agency, emphasized, "While the professional baseball postseason is a time of celebration for fans, it can also present opportunities for criminals. To prevent citizens from falling victim, we will strengthen online monitoring and respond strictly to similar crimes under a zero-tolerance policy."
As the baseball fever intensifies, so does the shadow of crime. The warning that 'only official reservations are safe' is not just a suggestion. To eradicate ticket scams that exploit fans' enthusiasm, heightened public vigilance and prompt police action are more crucial than ever.
