Magnitude 2.8 Earthquake Strikes South-Southeast of Geomundo, Yeosu; No Damage Expected

At 12:49:56 PM on October 5, 2025, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.8 occurred in the sea 87 kilometers south-southeast of Geomundo, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter of the earthquake was at latitude 33.27 degrees north and longitude 127.54 degrees east. The depth of the earthquake was 19 kilometers.

The Korea Meteorological Administration stated that there is not expected to be any earthquake damage.
