Woori Bank Family Volunteer Group Visits Elderly Living Alone Ahead of Chuseok for Volunteer Service
Gift Packages Delivered and Financial Fraud Prevention Education Provided
The "WOORI Family Volunteer Group," consisting of around 100 employees of Woori Bank and their family members, delivered Chuseok gifts to elderly individuals living alone in Jung-gu, Seoul, on September 27, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Since its inaugural ceremony in March, the volunteer group has carried out a range of activities, including supporting operations at Goodwill Store in April, a plogging event at Eulwangni Beach in May, and, on this day, their fourth volunteer event for Chuseok.
On this occasion, the group personally delivered gift packages containing groceries and health supplements, along with handwritten Chuseok letters, to the homes of the elderly. In addition, to prevent the increase in financial fraud that often occurs around the holidays, they also provided education on major voice phishing cases and response methods.
This activity went beyond simple material support, as it also involved checking on the daily stability of the elderly and providing financial safety education, thereby adding significance in terms of realizing social value.
Meanwhile, in addition to the family volunteer group, Woori Bank employees at branches nationwide are practicing community contribution through various volunteer activities, such as providing financial education and participating in environmental clean-up efforts at local social welfare organizations.
