On October 2, Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had launched a campaign for the "Sacheon Aerospace National Railway Network Construction" at the 29th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony and Senior Unity Festival, positioning itself as the center of the aerospace industry.
The event was attended by more than 1,300 senior citizens from Sacheon, including Sacheon Mayor Park Dongsik and An Gyutak, head of the Sacheon branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association. Together, they promoted the pursuit of a healthy life in old age and the continued development of filial piety and respect for elders.
During the Senior Citizens' Day ceremony, the city conducted a campaign calling for the inclusion of the "Sacheon Aerospace National Railway" in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan, aiming to build nationwide consensus.
Mayor Park Dongsik said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the seniors who have contributed to the development of our community, and I will continue to support a variety of cultural activities to ensure a healthy and fulfilling life for our senior citizens."
He also emphasized, "For the next 100 years of Sacheon as a leading aerospace city, the Sacheon Aerospace National Railway must be constructed."

Meanwhile, the Senior Citizens' Day ceremony and Senior Unity Festival featured a two-part program: the first part included the reading of the Senior Citizens' Charter and awards for outstanding contributors, while the second part concluded with a Hangung competition, various performances, and a silver song contest, offering a diverse array of performances and hands-on activities.
