[Click e-Stock] "Gigavis Expected to Improve Performance"
On October 1, Meritz Securities predicted that Gigavis would benefit from the diversification of suppliers for flip-chip ball grid array (FC-BGA) products used in artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators for CoWoS.
Yang Seungsoo, a researcher at Meritz Securities, explained, "There is a rapid movement toward vendor diversification in the ASIC sector. This is due to a combination of factors, including the fact that existing leading companies are focusing on meeting demand for Nvidia GPU package substrates and that the supply of key raw materials remains tight."
He added, "The operating rates of downstream companies seeking to expand supply for ASICs are rising, and investment needs are also increasing. It appears that some clients have even entered into concrete discussions."
He stated, "With the gradual expansion of orders for AI accelerators, Gigavis's revenue is expected to increase to 51.5 billion won this year and 63.5 billion won next year. There is also a strong possibility of restoring high profitability based on this revenue growth."
Researcher Yang analyzed, "In addition to its existing FC-BGA inspection equipment, Gigavis is developing a new PLP (Panel-Level Package) RDL inspection product. Although the equipment was initially developed for WLP, the company is shifting its strategy toward PLP and is attempting to enter client companies accordingly."
He further emphasized, "We expect tangible results next year, and it is significant in that the generation of revenue would mean a real entry into the semiconductor sector."
