Yeongju City Implements 11-Day Chuseok Comprehensive Plan for Citizen Safety and Convenience
Yeongju City has established the "2025 Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan" to ensure that both citizens and returning visitors can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday during Korea's largest traditional festival, Chuseok. The plan will be implemented over 11 days, from September 29 to October 9, 2025.
During the holiday period, the city will operate a comprehensive situation room, nine emergency response teams, and on-call duty at town and township offices. The city will focus on 18 key tasks across six main areas: strengthening disaster response and infrastructure management, emergency medical and public health measures, revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing livelihoods, managing price stability, promoting sharing and welfare, and establishing integrity and discipline among public officials.
In preparation for Chuseok, safety inspections will be conducted at traditional markets and multi-use facilities, and the integrated CCTV control center will operate 24 hours a day to prevent accidents and ensure rapid response. In addition, the city will operate a special autumn wildfire prevention headquarters and conduct comprehensive inspections of road facilities to maximize disaster and safety management efforts.
In the medical sector, an emergency medical situation room will be operated, and designated emergency hospitals, clinics, and holiday-duty pharmacies will be available to maintain a medical system capable of responding quickly to emergencies.
To revitalize the local economy and stabilize livelihoods, the city will host traditional market shopping events, offer a 15% discount on Yeongju Love Gift Certificates, and hold a Chuseok discount event on the online shopping mall "Yeongju Market Day." Public parking lots near traditional markets will also be opened free of charge to enhance convenience for citizens.
During the holiday, the city will operate a task force for household waste management and an emergency water supply team for water and sewage, ensuring rapid disposal of household and food waste and minimizing any inconvenience related to water supply.
From October 3 to 5, the "2025 Yeongju Museom Single-log Bridge Festival" will be held in the Museom Village area of Munsu-myeon. On Chuseok day, major tourist attractions such as Sosu Seowon, Sosu Museum, Seonbichon, and Seonbi World will be open to the public free of charge, adding to the festive spirit of the holiday.
