Bae, Kim & Lee LLC Recruits Export Control Expert Hwang Hoseong as Senior Advisor
Launch of the "Export-Import Regulation Response Center"
On September 31, Bae, Kim & Lee LLC announced that it has recruited Hwang Hoseong, a renowned expert in export controls, to respond to the intensifying US-China conflict and the strengthening of global export-import regulations. With the addition of Senior Advisor Hwang, the firm has launched its "Export-Import Regulation Response Center," further enhancing its expertise in the areas of strategic goods, technology security, and international controls.
Senior Advisor Hwang earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in semiconductor-related fields from Sungkyunkwan University and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and obtained a Ph.D. in political science and diplomacy from Hanyang University, focusing on US export control strategies. He is recognized as an expert with both theoretical and practical knowledge of the semiconductor industry and international regulatory policies.
He conducted semiconductor research at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and later worked at the Strategic Goods Management Institute (now the Trade Security Management Institute), where he was responsible for strategic goods classification and tasks related to international export control regimes. He played a leading role in establishing and advancing South Korea's strategic goods export management system.
Until recently, he served as an export control advisor at Kim & Chang, and he is currently active as a member of the Strategic Goods Technology Advisory Group for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as well as the International Export Control Regime Technology Subcommittee at the Trade Security Management Institute. Leveraging his experience in both practical and policy advisory roles that bridge industrial policy and technology security, he has contributed to helping domestic and international companies respond to export-import regulations.
