Seongnam City Implements Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan: "Wishing You a Safe and Comfortable Holiday"
Safety, Transportation, Convenience, Price Stability, and Sharing
846 Personnel Across 25 Task Forces on Duty
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) announced on September 30 that it has established and is implementing a "Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan" to ensure citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday.
To this end, the city will operate 25 task forces across seven sectors-including safety, transportation, convenience, quarantine, prices, sharing, and public office discipline-during the seven-day holiday from October 3 to October 9. During this period, 846 personnel will be on duty.
The city will prioritize safety by operating a 24-hour disaster and accident response team to be prepared for any incidents or emergencies.
In addition, safety inspections will be conducted at 41 multi-use facilities, including traditional markets and large discount stores, as well as on roads and public infrastructure.
The city will also strengthen food safety management by checking whether local businesses properly label the origins of agricultural, livestock, and marine products.
In the transportation sector, a transportation countermeasures headquarters will be established, and city buses on 21 routes will be deployed intensively during peak travel times for those visiting ancestral graves or returning to their hometowns.
At the Seongnam Intercity Bus Terminal in Yatap-dong, up to 19 intercity buses and 58 express buses will be temporarily added as needed. The number of temporary buses may vary depending on demand and ticket availability for each route.
To minimize parking inconvenience, 222 locations-including schools and public parking lots, totaling 23,358 spaces-will be opened to the public free of charge.
For convenience, a comprehensive cleaning control room will be operated to establish an emergency waste collection system.
An energy supply task force will also be in operation to stabilize fuel supply and prepare for gas, electricity, and oil-related accidents.
To prepare for medical emergencies, the public health centers in Sujeong, Jungwon, and Bundang districts will designate clinics and pharmacies that will remain open during the holiday, and a 24-hour emergency medical system will be maintained at nine emergency medical institutions in the area.
In the area of price stability, the city will guide and crack down on unfair trade practices to establish sound distribution order.
For sharing, the city will foster a warm holiday atmosphere by delivering donated goods to low-income households through Chuseok holiday support centers set up at 54 locations across the city, districts, and neighborhoods.
