Trump: "Israel Accepts Gaza Peace Proposal... Only Hamas' Decision Remains"
Summit Meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on September 29 (local time) that Israel had agreed to his peace proposal aimed at ending the Gaza conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
President Trump made this statement during a joint press conference held after a summit meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, saying, "I thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for agreeing to this plan."
He explained, "If Hamas agrees, my proposal includes the immediate release of all hostages within no more than 72 hours. In this case, the hostages will return immediately, which means an immediate end to the war."
President Trump added, "I have heard that Hamas also wants to reach an agreement. However, there is a possibility that Hamas may reject it. All other parties have already agreed, and ultimately, only Hamas remains. But I believe they will give a positive response."
