Among the 900 daycare teachers nationwide at centers operated by the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, who has been recognized this year for making the most outstanding contributions to the health and safety of infants and young children?
On September 29, the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service (President Park Jonggil) selected Ryu Hanbyul, a teacher at Changwon Daycare Center, as the recipient of the 4th Childcare Teacher of the Year Award, held to encourage outstanding teachers at its directly managed daycare centers.
As the government’s policy to integrate early childhood education and care is being implemented in earnest to address the low birth rate and strengthen the childcare system, the Service annually discovers and honors teachers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and responsibility in the field.
This year’s awardee, Teacher Ryu, has been highly trusted by parents and colleagues alike for her dedication to the health and safety of infants and young children for over ten years since joining Changwon Daycare Center in 2012.

The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service currently operates 37 directly managed daycare centers nationwide to provide reliable public childcare services where workers can entrust their children with peace of mind. At present, about 900 teachers care for approximately 3,600 infants and young children, offering customized care services such as infant care, Saturday care, and extended night care.
In addition, the Service is strengthening its role as a regional hub for public daycare by introducing specialized programs utilizing AI technology and differentiated safety management systems.
