Namyangju to Raise Village Bus Fares by Up to 200 Won Starting October 25
The city of Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Kwangdeok) will increase village bus fares by 200 won starting from the first bus on October 25.
The city announced that on September 24, it held a Consumer Policy Review Committee meeting, during which it reviewed and approved the proposed adjustment to village bus fares.
Accordingly, the village bus fares based on transportation card payments will be adjusted as follows: adults from 1,450 won to 1,650 won (an increase of 200 won), teenagers from 1,010 won to 1,160 won (an increase of 150 won), and children from 730 won to 830 won (an increase of 100 won).
This fare adjustment will be implemented on the same date and at the same rate as the fare increase for city buses in Gyeonggi Province.

A Namyangju City official stated, "We expect this measure to help improve the management conditions and alleviate the manpower shortage faced by the village bus industry, which has been suffering from chronic deficits," adding, "We will continue to improve transportation convenience for citizens by ensuring stable operation of village buses."
