On September 29, Gyeongnam Nonghyup held a "Korean Language Contest" quiz event and the Nongsim Cheonsim (Farmer's Heart, Heaven's Heart) campaign at the Nonghyup Changnyeong Training Center, with around 80 participants including members of the Gyeongnam Provincial Association of Farmhousewives and marriage immigrant women from Gyeongnam.
This event featured 11 teams, each consisting of two marriage immigrant women representing cities and counties in Gyeongnam. Ryu Gilnyeon, Head of Gyeongnam Nonghyup, Kang Moonkyu, Director of Changnyeong Training Center, Shin Wookyung, Head of Nonghyup Changnyeong Branch, Lee Panam, President of Namji Nonghyup, and Shin Wonki, President of Bugok Nonghyup, attended to encourage the participants. Together, they shared the excellence of the Korean language and culture, fostering multicultural acceptance and nurturing the next generation of women leaders.
Additionally, this activity was selected as part of Gyeongsangnam-do's gender equality project for 2025, organized by the Gyeongnam Provincial Association of Farmhousewives and supported by Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongnam Nonghyup. It was held ahead of Hangeul Day, making the occasion even more meaningful.
As a result of the contest, first place, the "Eutteum Award," went to the Haerang Team from Namhae County; second place, the "Beogeum Award," went to the Udol Team from Haman County; and third place, the "Ikkeum Award," went to the Hamo Team from Jinju City.
Chairwoman Choi Minryeon said, "I hope that this Korean Language Contest, held in celebration of Hangeul Day, will be a valuable experience for marriage immigrant women to learn and enjoy the Korean language and culture. The Farmhousewives Association will continue to carry out various activities to promote happiness and sharing in rural communities and local society."
