Gimpo City to Operate Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Situation Room and Seven Task Forces

Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province will implement the "2025 Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan" to ensure that citizens can enjoy a comfortable and safe Chuseok holiday.

The city will operate the "Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Situation Room" for seven days from October 3 to October 9, including the temporary public holiday. The aim is to provide uninterrupted comprehensive guidance and respond immediately to any citizen inconveniences.

The holiday measures will focus on key areas such as emergency medical care during Chuseok, price stabilization and safety management of livestock and marine products, environmental cleanup and wildfire prevention, special holiday transportation and information services, and accident prevention. Seven task forces, comprising a total of 202 public officials, will be organized to carry out these measures.

◆ Hospitals and Animal Hospitals Open During the Chuseok Holiday

To prepare for emergency patients, a public health and medical task force will be established, along with an emergency medical management situation team. The city will designate and provide information on 139 hospitals and clinics and 72 pharmacies that will remain open during the Chuseok holiday. In addition, to prevent gaps in medical services in vulnerable areas during the holiday, the Northern Public Health Center will serve as a hub to ensure that local public health institutions operate normally.

Gimpo Woori Hospital and New Goryeo Hospital will operate 24-hour emergency rooms, while Nari Women’s Hospital will be prepared for 24-hour emergency deliveries. Hansarang Pharmacy, a public late-night pharmacy, will operate from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. during the holiday period.

For further information, citizens can contact the Gyeonggi Call Center (120), the Health and Welfare Counseling Center (129), or the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center. Information is also available through the Emergency Medical Information Center and the Emergency Medical Information Provision smartphone app.

Additionally, the Rainbow Hill and Gimpo City Memorial Park burial facilities will operate as usual throughout the Chuseok holiday.

◆ Garbage Disposal Days During the Holiday

To minimize citizen inconvenience caused by household waste during the holiday, a "special collection system" will be established for timely collection and to prevent accumulation. A situation management team and a mobile response team will be operated, and designated days for garbage disposal and collection will be announced.

Household waste disposal will be prohibited for three days, from October 4 to October 6. Any household waste that cannot be disposed of during the holiday can be put out for collection between 8 p.m. and midnight on the designated disposal day.

In areas using the CleanNet system, residents should use designated garbage bags to dispose of waste through CleanNet.

◆ Safety Management of Agricultural, Livestock, and Marine Products

In preparation for the Chuseok peak season, the city will conduct origin labeling inspections for food items and other products that require origin labeling at restaurants. An emergency response team will also be organized and operated to ensure thorough food safety management and prevent food poisoning.

To stabilize prices during the Chuseok holiday, the period from September 17 to October 9 has been designated as the "Chuseok Holiday Price Stabilization Special Measures Period." A price stabilization task force was formed to conduct price surveys of key Chuseok items and to check compliance with origin and price labeling requirements. The five-day market in Gimpo will be closed on Chuseok day, while the Gimpo five-day market will open additionally on October 4 and 5, and the Yangkok five-day market will open on October 5.

◆ Tourist Sites Open During the Holiday: Aegibong Peace Ecological Park and Gimpo Warship Park

From October 3 to October 9, Aegibong Peace Ecological Park will operate without closure, allowing citizens to enjoy cultural activities without inconvenience during the holiday. Gimpo Warship Park will also be open to visitors throughout the holiday period, except on Chuseok day (October 6).
