Maintaining Disaster Management System: Situation Room Operation

26 Emergency Medical Institutions... Preventing Gaps in Medical Care
13% Discount on Mutual Benefit Card... Boosting the Local Economy
On September 29, the Gwangju city government announced that it will implement the “Comprehensive Measures for Stabilizing Citizens' Lives during Chuseok” from October 3 to 9, spanning seven days, to ensure that citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday.
This comprehensive plan will be carried out across three main areas-stabilizing citizens’ daily lives, emergency medical care and prevention of infectious diseases and food poisoning, and price stabilization-covering 10 specific items and 48 detailed tasks.
During the Chuseok holiday, the city will operate an integrated situation room to respond to various disasters and incidents, including typhoons. The city will strengthen wildfire prevention efforts and safety inspections of multi-use facilities to prioritize citizens’ safety. The 120 Call Center will also provide guidance services for daily convenience, such as information on emergency medical institutions.
To ensure smooth travel for those returning home during the holiday, special city bus transportation measures will be implemented. In particular, from October 4 to 8, some bus routes will be extended to Yeongnak Park, and on Chuseok day, October 6, additional buses will be added to routes passing through the Gwangju General Bus Terminal.
To ensure that no neighbors are left behind during the holiday, the city will focus on identifying families in crisis and will continue to provide care services to vulnerable seniors, people with disabilities, and children from low-income families. To prevent medical service gaps, 26 emergency medical institutions and “open hospitals and pharmacies” will remain operational, while public nighttime and Dalbit Children's Hospitals will continue to offer evening care. In addition, the city will work to stabilize prices through inspections and will promote the local economy by offering a 13% special discount on the Gwangju Mutual Benefit Card.
