"Turtle Walking Competition" to Be Held at Eungye Lake Park in Siheung on October 17
A Place for Unity Where People With and Without Disabilities Walk Together
On October 17, 2025, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province will host the "Turtle Walking Competition" at the Eungye Lake Park area, where people with and without disabilities can walk together, communicate, and enjoy cultural activities.
This event, organized by the Siheung Sidae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, is part of the "Disability Rights Promotion Program Contest Project."
Participants who complete the 3 km course at Eungye Lake Park will receive medals and commemorative gifts. Along the route, various events such as a disability awareness quiz and photo zones will also be available.
At the venue, there will be experience booths operated by welfare facilities for people with disabilities, and after the competition, the "You, Me, and Us Festival" will also take place.
Shim Yunsik, Director of Welfare for Siheung City, stated, "This meaningful event is made possible by the collective efforts of many local organizations to create an everyday life that both people with and without disabilities can enjoy together," adding, "We will strive to foster a culture of mutual recognition and respect."
