Kim Dongyeon Urges "Minimize Inconvenience to Residents from System Disruptions" After National Information Resources Fire
On September 26, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon issued urgent orders in response to the fire at the Daejeon National Information Resources Service, including the operation of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and an emergency fire safety inspection of data centers within the province.
Governor Kim Dongyeon, who is currently visiting China, was informed of the fire and emphasized, "Respond swiftly to minimize inconvenience to residents caused by system disruptions, while prioritizing the safety of residents above all else," and requested five specific actions.
The five directives from Governor Kim are as follows: ▲ Operation of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and the Fire Situation Response Team ▲ Reinforcement of 119 emergency personnel to prepare for various system failures ▲ Provision of sufficient information, such as hospital bed availability, to field personnel ▲ Emergency fire safety inspections of 42 data centers within Gyeonggi Province ▲ Preparation of measures to handle civil service issuance in response to the disruption of the Government24 website.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province began work on operating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the morning of September 27, and at 3 p.m. that day, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs Kim Sungjoong will convene an emergency meeting of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
