Through the establishment of an official, long-term partnership between the city library and the hospital, a foundation for a reading culture was created, allowing patients, soldiers, medical staff, and visitors to participate.
Additionally, the book donation ceremony, conducted in collaboration with local small libraries, served as an opportunity to expand the local reading culture network and presented a new reading culture model involving the civilian sector, the military, and public institutions together.
During the book talk with author Cho Haejin, participants engaged in a Q&A session and a book signing, providing an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of reading and writing. This event allowed soldiers and hospital staff to experience the joy of reading and the emotional healing it can bring.
The director of the city library stated, "Through this collaborative project involving the hospital, the library, and local small libraries, we hope to establish a sustainable reading culture. We will continue to work towards expanding a community reading culture that all generations can participate in."
