Suncheon City Recruiting Farms to Employ Foreign Seasonal Workers Next Year
"Addressing Labor Shortages"
Applications Accepted Until October 10
Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province announced on September 25 that it will be accepting applications from farms (employers) wishing to hire '2026 foreign seasonal workers' until October 10 of next month, in order to address labor shortages during the busy farming season.
The foreign seasonal worker program is a system that supports the short-term employment of foreign workers during periods of high labor demand, such as the farming season. This program has been highly beneficial in stabilizing farm management and alleviating labor shortages.
Applications are accepted based on the crops and cultivation areas listed on the farm business registration certificate. Workers can be invited from among the immediate family members (up to second-degree relatives) in the home country of marriage immigrants residing in the area. Farms wishing to hire workers must submit an application form and relevant supporting documents to the administrative welfare center of their town, township, or neighborhood according to their address.
Farms selected as employers must pay workers at least the minimum hourly wage for 2026, which is 10,320 won or more, and are required to provide appropriate accommodation and enroll the workers in industrial accident insurance, as well as comply with all employment conditions.
