City to Issue 4.6 Billion Won in Certificates
Record-High Issuance Volume and Discount Rate
Available from the 29th via 'chak' App and Five Financial Institutions Until Budget Runs Out
Sokcho City in Gangwon Province will issue a total of 4.6 billion won worth of 'Sokcho Love Gift Certificates' for the Chuseok holiday, aiming to boost the local economy and reduce the burden of holiday shopping for citizens.
Through this special discount event, citizens can purchase gift certificates at a 20% discount, up to a maximum of 1 million won per person.
The certificates will be issued starting from the 29th and will be available for purchase until the allocated budget is exhausted. Previously, the city expanded sales of the certificates with a 15% discount rate in September, and as of September 14, they were sold out early. In response, the city plans to provide more tangible benefits this Chuseok season by increasing both the discount rate and the issuance volume.
The Sokcho Love Gift Certificates can be easily purchased through the 'Local Love Gift Certificate chak' mobile application. In addition, instant card issuance is available at designated financial institutions such as Nonghyup, Woori Bank, Shinhan Credit Union, Saemaeul Geumgo, and the post office. Currently, the certificates can be used at 4,128 affiliated stores throughout Sokcho City.
If the entire amount of the purchased certificates remains unused, a full refund is available within seven days. Partial refunds are allowed if more than 60% of the charged amount has been used. The certificates are valid for five years from the date of purchase.
