The agreement is intended to establish a cooperative framework for the smooth progress of the compilation project, as well as to promote the joint development of local culture and arts and strengthen a sustainable partnership.
In particular, the research team led by Professor Lee Songran of Duksung Women's University, which is responsible for the practical work, has contributed to the development of local culture over the past three years by holding academic symposiums highlighting local cultural heritage such as "Yanggang" and "Sanasa" in the form of talent donations. This collaboration is drawing even more attention as it builds upon these previous connections.
The Yangpyeong County Gazette Compilation Committee, chaired by Governor Jeon Jinseon, consists of 15 experts and academics from various fields, including culture and arts, media, administration, and the council. The committee aims to produce a county gazette that combines popular appeal with academic value, and with the appointment ceremony for the compilation committee members held on the same day, it officially launched its activities. The committee also listened to the Duksung Women's University research team's initial report, provided advice on the direction and structure of the gazette, and pledged comprehensive cooperation.
Governor Jeon Jinseon stated, "This publication of the county gazette is not merely a record, but an important project that captures Yangpyeong's identity and future," adding, "We will realize the value of an open gazette created together with the residents."
On this day, "Charming Yangpyeong" ambassadors Gil Obok and Lee Insook also attended the event, adding significance to the occasion, which served as a meaningful announcement of the official start of the county gazette publication project both within and outside the county.
