"Receive 1 Million Won for Purchasing an Electric or Hydrogen Vehicle After Scrapping an Old Diesel Car"
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will provide an additional subsidy of 1 million won to residents who scrap their grade 4 or 5 old diesel vehicles and purchase an electric or hydrogen passenger car or truck.
On September 25, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it is allocating a total budget of 350 million won this year to encourage the replacement of old diesel vehicles with eco-friendly cars.
In the first half of this year, Gyeonggi Province scrapped 11,793 grade 4 or 5 old diesel vehicles. The province aims to convert 350 old diesel vehicles to eco-friendly cars this year.
Those wishing to apply for the subsidy can visit a nearby dealership of an electric or hydrogen vehicle manufacturer or importer, purchase a vehicle, and then fill out and submit an application for purchase support. Afterward, the manufacturer or importer submits the relevant documents to the responsible department of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, and the subsidy is paid once the purchase is confirmed.
Details on eligibility requirements and how to apply can be found in the announcement on the Gyeonggi Provincial Government website.
Subsidies will be provided in the order applications are received.
