Goyang City Holds Talks with LH Goyang Project Headquarters to Discuss Jichuk District Land for Residents' Compensation Measures
Emergency Discussions with LH Begin on Residents' Demands Raised During 'Direct Communication Day for Civil Complaints'
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on the 25th that it held a meeting with the head of the LH Goyang Project Headquarters on the 23rd to discuss pending issues related to the Jichuk District land designated for residents' compensation measures.
The meeting was attended by the head of the LH Goyang Project Headquarters and the Director of Urban Housing Policy of Goyang Special City. The main agenda included residents' damages and demands raised during the recent 'Direct Communication Day for Civil Complaints.'
The city conveyed the residents' concerns, including: compensation for damages resulting from contract cancellations; raising issues regarding the unfairness of supply procedures and timing; and notification of contract cancellations in the absence of sufficient consultation.
In particular, the city emphasized that delays in supply, reduced business viability due to high sale prices, and institutional limitations revealed during the formation of associations are directly linked to residents' livelihoods, and requested that LH actively devise countermeasures.
In response, the LH Goyang Project Headquarters expressed understanding of the residents' difficulties and explained that the contract terminations were due to prolonged delays in the payment of the intermediate installment after the down payment had been made. The headquarters also expressed regret over the situation.
Additionally, the headquarters stated that it would coordinate with relevant departments to seek improvements for issues requiring institutional reform and would review various alternatives to minimize damages to residents.
