Kim Taegyun, Chairman of Jeonnam Provincial Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangyang 3), was appointed Vice Chairman of the Council of Chairs of Provincial and Metropolitan Councils of Korea for the latter half of the 19th term. On September 23, he attended the 5th extraordinary session held in Seoul and officially proposed improvements to the Hometown Love Donation Program.
During the meeting, Chairman Kim presented a proposal that included allowing corporate participation in donations, introducing tax benefits to attract businesses, and expanding the use of donated funds. The proposal was unanimously adopted by all attendees.

View original imageHe stated, "The donation program should be established as a win-win system where local small business owners and residents can thrive together," adding, "By expanding both the range of donors and the uses for donations, it should serve as a catalyst to invigorate the local economy."
At the National Assembly-Local Council Roundtable held the following day, Chairman Kim emphasized, "For local regions to overcome the crisis of population decline, it is essential for young people to settle in these areas," and requested the enactment of the "Special Act on the Creation and Support of Youth Special Zones."
He further stated, "Since there are limits to what local governments can achieve on their own, legislative and financial support at the national level is necessary. As Vice Chairman of the Council, I will actively communicate the positions of local councils across the country to the government and the National Assembly."
