As the Chuseok holiday approaches next month, convenience store chains are unveiling a series of new Chuseok lunchboxes. These lunchboxes are generously filled with assorted jeon, galbi, and seasoned vegetables, targeting "Honchujok"-single-person households and foreigners who spend the holiday alone.

The "Generous Chuseok Holiday Lunchbox" comes in a special nine-compartment container and includes three types of rice-black rice, kimchi fried rice, and sweet potato rice-along with gochujang galbi marinated pork, grilled neobiani, japchae, three kinds of seasoned vegetables (bellflower root, bracken, and pollack radish salad), assorted jeon (skewered meat, round jeon, kimchi jeon), and more. For dessert, it also features soybean flour mugwort glutinous rice cake, enhancing the festive atmosphere. This product will be available for a limited time until October 9.
GS25 has upgraded its 2025 Chuseok lunchbox compared to previous offerings, diversifying both the rice and side dishes. With the addition of dessert, the company expects customer satisfaction with its Chuseok lunchbox-recognized for its "generosity"-to increase even further.
CU is launching a "Hangawi Ready Meal Series" of seven products sequentially from the 24th, allowing customers to enjoy a festive holiday meal even when alone. This year, CU has expanded its Chuseok ready meal lineup from just one product to seven. The lineup includes a formal lunchbox, assorted jeon, galbi, japchae gimbap, and other dishes that recreate a full holiday spread at reasonable prices.
The signature product, the "Hangawi 11-Side Dish Lunchbox" (7,500 won), features sweet and savory grilled tteokgalbi in a special sauce, along with omisanjeok, shiitake mushroom jeon, chive jeon, kimchi jeon, various seasoned vegetables (such as bracken and spinach), and rice cake, capturing the abundance of a traditional holiday table. Other offerings include the "Assorted Jeon" (8,900 won), packed with a variety of jeon such as round jeon, perilla leaf jeon, and omisanjeok, and the "Pork Galbi" (7,900 won), a single-serving lunchbox with tender, juicy pork ribs marinated in a sweet and savory special sauce.

The "Osaekchanran Pungsunghan Sang Dosirak" received positive feedback last Chuseok from customers who wanted to try a variety of side dishes at once or couldn't prepare traditional holiday foods themselves. This year’s lunchbox features beef bulgogi marinated in plum extract as the main dish, along with assorted jeon (fried tofu, omisanjeok, kimchi jeon, chive jeon), various seasoned vegetables (stir-fried kimchi, radish, canola, perilla stem), mung bean jelly salad, mushroom galbi, mini yakgwa, and more-for a total of 12 side dishes. The price is set at 6,500 won, which is 400 won less than last year’s lunchbox (6,900 won). On the same day, the "Sobeolgogi Samgak Gimbap" will also be released.
To celebrate the launch of its Chuseok ready meals, Seven Eleven is running a special promotion to boost customer satisfaction. Until October 31, customers who purchase the "Osaekchanran Pungsunghan Sang Dosirak" with Kakao Pay Money or Nonghyup Card will receive a 20% instant discount.

The "Chuseok Holiday Big.Zip Lunchbox" is designed to capture the essence of a grand holiday meal enjoyed at the family’s main house, all packed into a single lunchbox. This offering features japchae and bulgogi as the main dishes, along with round jeon, chicken breast tofu jeon, seafood pancake, gochujang shrimp stir-fry, seasoned vegetables (bellflower root, spinach, bracken), ham and potato stir-fry, stir-fried kimchi, and more-for a total of 12 side dishes. The bulgogi is topped with chili peppers, and the rice is garnished with black sesame seeds, replicating the care and effort of a traditional holiday table.
The "Chuseok Full Moon Platter" is a sampler of holiday favorites, including japchae, bulgogi, round jeon, chicken breast tofu jeon, kimchi jeon, seafood pancake, dried pollack salad, three-color seasoned vegetables, and stir-fried kimchi, allowing customers to enjoy a wide variety of Chuseok dishes.
E-Mart 24 expects that both the "Chuseok Holiday Big.Zip Lunchbox" and "Chuseok Full Moon Platter," which can be easily prepared in the microwave without the hassle of separate holiday meal preparation, will be especially popular among single-person households who are not traveling home for the holidays.
