Playwrights Park Chunhyu and Will Arenson, who swept six categories including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical at the 78th Tony Awards with "Maybe Happy Ending," shared their creative secrets at a musical production staff seminar held at Spigen Hall in Seoul on the 22nd.
At the event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency as part of the "2025 Popular Culture and Arts Production Staff Capacity Building Program," production staff and industry professionals showed great interest in the process of taking original musicals global and the potential for expanding K-content.
The two playwrights vividly recounted their journey to Broadway and their collaborative process. Regarding the factors behind their success, they noted, "Word of mouth spread during the preview stage, and critical reviews at the official opening were also positive."

The event also featured a lecture by Han Kyungsook, producer at NHN Link, on "Production and Investment in the Global Era," as well as a talk concert, Q&A session, and networking opportunities. Yoo Hyunseok, Acting President of the Korea Creative Content Agency, remarked, "It was a meaningful occasion to assess the production capabilities required on the global stage and to reaffirm the importance of international collaboration." He added, "We will strive to nurture production talent and expand international networks to enhance the competitiveness of K-content."
