The 23rd Chuncheon International Water Forum 2025 will be held over two days from September 25 to 26 at the Sejong Hotel in Chuncheon.

View original imageThis year’s forum is hosted by the Chuncheon International Water Forum Association and sponsored by Gangwon Provincial Government, Chuncheon City, and the Han River Basin Management Committee, among others.
The event will see broad participation from domestic and international water experts, academia, businesses, and civil society. Under the main theme of "Water for a Sustainable Future," the forum will seek new visions for water management amid contemporary challenges such as climate change and the energy transition.
The forum will focus on "sustainability," a topic drawing global attention, and address key water environment issues facing humanity, including climate change and water scarcity. There will be presentations and discussions across a total of 11 sessions, including the opening ceremony and keynote speeches.
Major session topics will include: water management challenges on the path to net zero; water management for hydropower dams; achievements and cooperation strategies marking 50 years since the construction of the Soyang River Dam; water management issues of the four major rivers; sustainable agriculture and securing agricultural water; and countermeasures for water shortages on the East Coast, among other diverse agendas.
Yoon Seungki, Director of the Forest and Environment Bureau at Gangwon Provincial Government, stated, "I hope this forum will serve as an opportunity to foster international solidarity and cooperation centered around Chuncheon, the city of water," adding, "We look forward to presenting a vision for water management for a sustainable future."
