The event will feature a pre-ceremony performance by the Seongnam City Arts Troupe, the unveiling of the Media Wall, a celebratory performance by the Seongnam Youth Professional Arts Troupe, and a prize drawing, among other various activities for workers.
To commemorate the opening, the Seongnam Industrial Complex Management Corporation will host the 'High-Tech & Food Festa,' offering a variety of programs including cultural performances, corporate promotional booths, hands-on experience programs, and a food court. The event is designed for both industrial complex workers and citizens to enjoy together.
The 'Youth-Friendly Beautiful Street Project' is a key pledge of the 8th popularly elected administration, covering a total of 1.2 kilometers across Sagimakgol-ro 62beon-gil, Dunchon-daero 457beon-gil, and Galmachi-ro. The project aims to improve the pedestrian environment and landscape of the industrial complex by specializing nighttime scenery, creating the Media Square, remodeling design walls, and installing rest areas. The total project cost is 6.6 billion won, including 2 billion won in national funding secured through selection in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Project,' thereby reducing the city's financial burden.
In particular, the newly opened Media Square has been established along a 180-meter section of Sagimakgol-ro 62beon-gil. The area is equipped with various nighttime landscape facilities, such as a Media Glass Wall (glass media wall), projection colonnades (video projection devices), a mist fountain, and an LED wall. These features are expected to make it a vibrant open cultural space where workers and citizens can easily enjoy both work and daily life.
The city expects that, starting with this opening and upon the project's completion in June 2026, Seongnam High-Tech Valley will be revitalized as an industrial complex bustling with energy both day and night.
