Discussion on Development Strategies for Intelligent Marine Information for Future Maritime Operational Environments
The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (President Lee Heeseung, KIOST), in collaboration with the Navy Marine Information Unit, held the '12th Marine Information Cooperation Agency Collaboration Workshop' on September 23 at the KIOST headquarters in Busan (located in Yeongdo-gu, Busan).

원본보기 아이콘The workshop, held under the theme of 'Development Strategies for Intelligent Marine Information for Future Maritime Operational Environments,' was attended by key commanders and personnel of the Navy Marine Information Unit, as well as representatives from related organizations, including KIOST.
This event was organized to establish an efficient marine information sharing system among domestic maritime-related institutions and to strengthen mutual cooperation. In addition, six experts from KIOST, the National Institute of Meteorological Sciences, the Korea Naval Academy, the Naval Education and Training Command, and Hallym University of Graduate Studies presented their research and strategies for naval cooperation.
KIOST operates the 'Department of Maritime Power Enhancement and Defense Research' within the 'Maritime Territory Research Division' to strengthen maritime capabilities and develop technologies for responding to maritime disasters and accidents. The institute is conducting research to establish a national maritime defense safety support system.
Lee Heeseung, President of KIOST, stated, "The importance of advanced science and technology is increasing not only across industries but also in strengthening national maritime power. By utilizing KIOST's marine numerical modeling technology and marine big data, we hope to lay the foundation for military-academic cooperation and make a significant contribution to maritime security."
