A man in his 20s was caught in the act by police after secretly installing a hidden camera in a women's restroom at a commercial building to film women.
On the 23rd, Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced that they had arrested a man in his 20s, referred to as Mr. A, as a flagrant offender on suspicion of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of illegally filming a woman's body by hiding a camera in a women's restroom at a commercial building in Gakhwa-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, around midnight on the 22nd. A customer discovered the camera concealed inside a roll of toilet paper and reported it to the police. Officers who responded to the scene arrested Mr. A, who was working at the commercial building, on the spot.
