On September 21, Kim Dongseong's wife, In Minjung, posted on her social media account, sharing a message that read "good job" along with a photo of Kim Dongseong's short track coaching certificate.
In Minjung has been sharing updates about herself and Kim Dongseong through her social media. In November of last year, she posted a photo of Kim Dongseong cleaning at a construction site, writing, "Cleaning up filth. An update after a long time. This is how we're living. Feels like an ironic world." The released photo showed Kim Dongseong cleaning the floor of a building while wearing a safety helmet, mask, and rubber gloves.
