Hoengseong County Completes Expansion and Paving of Rural Road from Malmudeom in Anheung-myeon to Songhan-ri Village Entrance
Hoengseong County in Gangwon Province announced on September 23 that it has completed the expansion and paving of the Anheung-myeon Local Road No. 102, stretching from Malmudeom in Anheung 4-ri to the village entrance in Songhan-ri.

This section of road had long been a source of inconvenience for residents due to its narrow width and steep slopes, raising ongoing concerns about safety and traffic flow.
In particular, during winter, the narrow and steep mountainous sections would often freeze over, making passage extremely difficult. With the completion of this expansion, snow removal operations can now be carried out more quickly, allowing residents to use the road more safely.
Kim Myunggi, Mayor of Hoengseong County, stated, "The road expansion has not only greatly improved transportation convenience for residents, but also facilitated the transport of agricultural and livestock products and overall logistics. In addition, a system has been established to respond swiftly to various disasters such as wildfires."
He added, "We are also pursuing an additional 1.2-kilometer expansion project that will extend to the main village in Songhan-ri, with completion targeted for 2027."
