According to officials, these visits were arranged to promote greater community care and attention for vulnerable groups such as elderly people living alone and individuals with disabilities during Chuseok.
On this day, Mayor Choi visited a senior welfare housing complex in Dodam-dong, met with elderly residents living alone to exchange holiday greetings, and delivered support items while checking if there were any inconveniences in their daily lives. He then visited Woori Kong Jongchon Tofu, a self-support worksite in Jongchon-dong, as well as the Jongchon Workplace for the Disabled, encouraging participants in self-reliance support programs, including basic livelihood security recipients and people with disabilities.
