Campaign" around Damyang Market and the surrounding river area, with about 100 participants including public officials, related organizations, and groups.
This campaign, part of a nationwide cleanliness movement organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was launched to clean up trash caused by heavy summer rains and to present a clean image of Damyang to returning residents and tourists during the Chuseok holiday.
The event saw large-scale participation from organizations and groups such as public officials from South Jeolla Province and Damyang County, Jeonnam Saemaul Association, Jeonnam Branch of the Korea Wildlife Protection Association, Damyang 21 Ecocity Council, and Yeongsangang Conservation Damyang Council.
Participants collected 1.7 tons of trash in the Damyang Market and parking lot areas and also conducted a street campaign to eradicate illegal dumping. In addition, the "My Village Intensive Cleaning Week," which encourages local residents to take part in cleaning efforts themselves, was held simultaneously, further promoting community participation and local autonomy.
