Strengthening Corporate Capabilities
Practical Applications of AI and Introduction to IoT Support Projects
The Busan Green Environment Support Center at Pukyong National University (Director: Lee Taeyoon) held a 'Technology Seminar for Realizing Smart Environmental Management' on September 16 at the Busan Jangnim Surface Treatment Business Cooperative, targeting cooperative executives and tenant companies.
The seminar focused on two main topics: practical applications of AI and an introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) measuring device installation support project. The program shared AI technologies that can be immediately applied on site and aimed to enhance the voluntary environmental management capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises through the IoT measuring device installation support project.
A representative from the center stated, "This seminar serves as a process to promote both digital transformation and innovation in environmental management for companies within the local industrial complex. We expect that smart environmental management based on AI and IoT will also contribute to achieving ESG management."
The '2025 IoT Measuring Device Installation Support Project for Small-Scale Workplaces,' currently being promoted by the center, provides support for 90% of the installation costs of IoT measuring devices for Class 4 and 5 air emission businesses. The center offers technical support throughout the entire process, from document review and on-site inspection to completion assessment.
As of the first half of 2025, the center has completed 424 technical support cases at 412 sites. In cooperation with Busan City and district and county governments, the center is establishing an IoT-based air pollution monitoring system and strengthening the environmental management capabilities of small-scale workplaces.
