Daejeon City Launches "Good Citizens, Good Proposals" Citizen Idea Contest
Creative Policy Ideas
A Total of 50 Winners and 6 Million Won in Prizes
In order to incorporate policy ideas discovered in daily life into municipal administration, Daejeon City will hold the "Good Citizens, Good Proposals" contest through its citizen participation platform, Daejeon Siso, from September 22 to October 31, 2025.
This contest seeks creative and feasible proposals from citizens, with a total of 50 awards to be given. Five grand prize winners will receive a certificate and a cash prize of 300,000 won each, ten excellence awardees will receive 200,000 won each, fifteen encouragement awardees will receive 100,000 won each, and twenty participation awardees will receive 50,000 won each. The total prize pool is 6 million won.
To participate, citizens must register their proposals on the Daejeon Siso website and receive support from at least ten people during the submission period. Proposal categories include a free topic as well as six specific areas: welfare for single-person households, pedestrian-centered city, AI public services, intergenerational communication, resource circulation, and urban hospitality culture.
Daejeon City will review proposals registered on Daejeon Siso between January 1 and October 31, 2025, that have completed departmental review. Final selections will be made in November through an expert evaluation based on four criteria: feasibility, creativity, efficiency, and sustainability.
Additionally, among those who receive support from at least ten people, 50 participants will be selected by lottery to receive small prizes, further encouraging citizen participation.
