Dongducheon City Completes Creation of 'Ssamji Parks' as Everyday Urban Green Spaces
Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 22 that it has completed the creation of Ssamji Parks in three locations-Bosan-dong, Gwangam-dong, and Sangbongam-dong-by investing a total of 200 million won this year through a provincial subsidy project.
Through this project, the city has renovated previously neglected urban spaces and installed new green areas and rest facilities, providing citizens with pleasant spaces for relaxation and leisure.
The newly established Ssamji Parks feature a variety of trees, as well as amenities such as pergolas, benches, and outdoor exercise equipment, transforming them into everyday shelters accessible to people of all ages.
In particular, in Gwangam-dong and Sangbongam-dong (under the National Road No. 3 overpass), previously unauthorized farmland and environmental hazards were renovated and converted into green spaces, significantly improving the surrounding landscape.
