View original imageThe Rural Space Maintenance Project (Rural Specialized District Type) is a program in which cities and counties designate and foster rural specialized districts based on rural space plans to restructure, regenerate, and revitalize the local economy. The project promotes spatial restructuring by supporting two or more rural specialized districts that can complement each other's functions in an interconnected manner.
With this selection, the county plans to designate a "Rural Village Protection District" centered on the Anheung District to improve residential conditions, and to designate and foster a "Rural Convergence Industry District" focused on the production, processing, distribution, and experiential activities centered on red beans, which are produced in large quantities in the area.
Through this, Hoengseong County aims to establish a system for processing, distributing, and selling red beans, and to further enhance the brand value of Anheung Steamed Bread by linking tourism and experiential activities utilizing the existing Anheung Steamed Bread Morakmorak Village and local resources. The county also expects to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of Anheung-myeon by diversifying the production of products using red beans.
In the case of the Rural Village Protection District, in connection with the Rural Convergence Industry District, the county plans to improve residential stability by constructing rental housing for young people and entrepreneurs, as well as to create community rest areas and parking lots, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for local residents.
Hoengseong County has further solidified its position as a leading city and county in rural space restructuring by being selected for the Rural Space Maintenance Project competition, in addition to being the first in the nation to be selected for the Rural Agreement competition for two consecutive years, securing a total project budget of 81.4 billion won.
