Seoul to Offer 15% Discount on 11 Billion Won Worth of "Seoul Delivery+Ddanggyeyo" Gift Certificates
Starting September 29, 11 Billion Won in Gift Certificates Available Across 10 Districts
15% Discount and Partial Payback When Purchasing Gift Certificates
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on September 21 that it will issue 11 billion won worth of exclusive gift certificates for "Seoul Delivery+Ddanggyeyo." The certificates offer a 15% discount and will be available for purchase in 10 districts starting from the 29th.
The public delivery service "Seoul Delivery+Ddanggyeyo" has been growing based on its low intermediary fee (2%), an operating structure that does not require advertising expenses, and a variety of consumer discount benefits. As of August 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year, cumulative sales (67.119 billion won) increased by 161.1%, the number of members (2,119,445) grew by 48.1%, and the number of affiliated stores (5,969) rose by 19.3%. All key indicators are on the rise, demonstrating continued expansion.
The district-exclusive delivery gift certificates can only be used at affiliated stores within each respective district. In addition to the advance discount on the gift certificates, Seoul will also run a "payback event" that returns 10% of the payment amount in delivery-exclusive gift certificates, and a "5% Ddanggyeyo points instant accrual" promotion, allowing consumers to enjoy up to 30% in total discounts. The payback is provided on the 20th of the month following the payment month, and Ddanggyeyo points are awarded immediately upon order completion.
In addition to the 15% gift certificate discount, the 10% payback event, and the 5% points accrual, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' public delivery app consumer coupon is also applicable. Currently, for two food orders of 20,000 won or more, a 10,000 won coupon is provided without limit until the budget is exhausted. Starting October 1, a 5,000 won coupon will be instantly given for one order of 20,000 won or more per person per day.
"Ddang Delivery," the in-house delivery service of "Seoul Delivery+Ddanggyeyo," has been expanded to all districts in Seoul since September 17. In addition to reduced delivery fees for consumers, enhanced delivery quality services are provided, including real-time rider location tracking, estimated arrival time notifications, contactless delivery completion photo sharing, and an average delivery time reduction of about 20 minutes.
