Bukgu District in Gwangju Achieves Top Performance for 14 Consecutive Times in Rapid Local Fiscal Execution
Bukgu District in Gwangju has been selected as the only top-performing institution among Gwangju’s autonomous districts in the rapid local fiscal execution assessment for the first half of this year, continuing its achievement for the 14th consecutive time.
According to Bukgu District on September 21, this assessment is a system implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to comprehensively evaluate the efforts of 243 local governments nationwide to revitalize the local economy through proactive fiscal execution.
In the first half of this year, Bukgu District executed a total budget of 168.8 billion won, achieving an execution rate of 198.6% compared to the target amount of 85 billion won. This represents a 73 percentage point increase from the execution rate of 125.6% recorded during the same period last year. Notably, in the consumption and investment sector in the second quarter, the district executed 55.8 billion won, surpassing the target of 54.8 billion won and achieving an execution rate of 102%.

As a result of these achievements, Bukgu District was selected as the only top-performing institution among Gwangju’s autonomous districts in the comprehensive evaluation and secured a special grant of 80 million won as an incentive. The district plans to reinvest this funding in projects aimed at improving residents’ convenience.
