Shilla University RISE Project Group Holds Busan-Style Future Education Competency Enhancement Special Lecture
Shilla University (President Heo Namsik) RISE Project Group evaluated the completion of the "Busan-Style Future Education Competency Enhancement Special Lecture" as a success.
On September 11, the Shilla University RISE Project Group held the "Busan-Style Future Education Competency Enhancement Special Lecture" to accelerate the training of future teachers and strengthen connections with the local community, based on AI and software-driven educational innovation.
The special lecture, held in Room 421 of the College of Education building at Shilla University, was attended by faculty from the Department of Education as well as undergraduate and graduate students, including prospective teachers.
Under the theme "Competency Enhancement for Leading Busan-Style Future Education," the lecture presented various strategies for classroom innovation and community engagement, including Busan-style future education innovation, designing lessons utilizing AI and software, and career exploration learning through community participation.
The interactive format, which combined lectures and Q&A sessions, received a strong response from students. Practice-based examples of AI-driven lesson design and community-linked learning models were presented, and participants shared that it was "a practical experience that can be immediately applied in future teaching settings."
Park Jihong, a third-year student in the Department of Education who participated in the lecture, said, "Through this special lecture, I could see how the knowledge learned at university can actually be connected to the local community," adding, "As a prospective teacher, I want to play a role in growing together with the region."
Lee Kyungsun, Dean of the College of Education at Shilla University, stated, "This has provided an opportunity to further strengthen the future education competencies of prospective teachers," and added, "We will continue to provide systematic support so that students can grow into teachers who possess both professionalism and character as required in the field of education."
Hwang Inju, Head of the RISE Project Group, said, "This is a concrete example of realizing the vision of university innovation and local community engagement that the RISE project aims for in the educational field," and added, "Through a variety of programs, we will support prospective teachers in acquiring the competencies needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, so they can grow into talents who are active both locally and globally."

Shilla University has decided to institutionalize AI and software education innovation programs based on this special lecture. The university plans to gradually promote industry-academia and community-linked projects to spread the Busan-style future education model.
