Gapyeong County to Select Two Masters
Technical Incentive of 200,000 Won per Month for Two Years,
Totaling 4.8 Million Won in Support
Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 19 that it will select the 2025 "Gapyeong County Master" to discover and recognize outstanding talents among local traditional and skilled technicians.
This selection aims to enhance the pride of technical masters and establish a foundation that contributes to the preservation of traditional culture and the development of industry.
Applicants must be registered residents of Gapyeong County and have worked in their respective fields for at least 15 years, with a proven record of contributing to local technological advancement or society. Those who have inherited traditional techniques or achieved improvements in processes or quality are also eligible. However, individuals who have already been recognized as a master in the same field or as a National Master of Korea are excluded.
The selection covers 92 occupations across 35 fields, including traditional technology, crafts, electricity, machinery, material development, civil engineering, agriculture, design, cooking, baking and pastry, as well as diverse traditional and skilled fields such as architecture, music, dance, crafts, food production, and theater.
The two final recipients will be awarded the Gapyeong County Master Certificate and receive a technical incentive of 200,000 won per month for two years, totaling 4.8 million won. In addition, the county will provide support to enable participation in activities related to the transmission and dissemination of technical skills.

Interested individuals should visit the Job Policy Division at Gapyeong County Office or their local township administrative welfare center to apply. Required documents include an application form, recommendation letter, consent form for personal information use, certificate of career, and copies of relevant licenses.
