Donghae City to Support Meal Programs for Children at Risk of Missing Meals During Chuseok Holiday
Apply at Donghae Administrative Welfare Center
9,500 won meal support per day
Donghae City in Gangwon Province will actively identify and support children at risk of missing meals during the upcoming Chuseok holiday (October 3-9), ensuring that no child is left behind.
During the Chuseok holiday, group meal facilities such as local children's centers and regular restaurants will be closed, which could result in meal gaps for children at risk of missing meals.
To address this, the city will pre-identify affiliated restaurants that will remain open during the holiday and provide this information to eligible children and their guardians. In addition, the city will work with local residents, school teachers, and private organizations to identify new children in need, ensuring that no child falls through the cracks of the welfare system.
Before the holiday, the city will also inspect the hygiene management and meal provision plans of affiliated restaurants to ensure smooth and safe meal support during the holiday period.
Meal support for children at risk of missing meals can be applied for by the child or their guardian at the local administrative welfare center. Support is provided through the Child Meal Card (Dream Card), which can be used at 49 affiliated locations, including convenience stores and regular restaurants within Donghae City.
