Baekje Cultural Festival: A Gastronomic Feast Prepared by Buyeo
Sabigol Matjip, Food Trucks, and Goodtrae Market...
Experience History, Culture, and Gastronomy All in One Place
This year, the 71st Baekje Cultural Festival will transform into an all-encompassing event featuring the three elements of “history, culture, and gastronomy.”
Local specialties from Sabigol Matjip, trendy food offerings from more than 20 food trucks, and regional agricultural products from the Goodtrae Market will all be gathered in one place to captivate the senses of visitors.
According to Buyeo County on September 19, Sabigol Matjip inside the Baekje Cultural Complex will showcase Buyeo’s signature local dishes such as lotus leaf rice, yukhoe bibimbap, beef head soup, and walnut soybean noodle soup during this year’s festival.
In addition, the food truck zone will feature takoyaki, handmade hot dogs, steak, kebabs, crepes, and even coffee and ice cream, appealing to both young people and families.
Especially at the Goodtrae Market, Buyeo’s agricultural specialty brand, visitors can sample and purchase local products on-site, and a photo zone featuring the adorable character “Goodtree” will be set up to delight families.
Furthermore, a free shuttle bus will connect the city center and the festival grounds throughout the event, allowing visitors to explore popular local restaurants in Buyeo, which is expected to help revitalize the local economy.
A county official stated, “The Baekje Cultural Festival is a culinary event where you can enjoy history and culture while experiencing the unique flavors of Buyeo,” and added, “We hope everyone enjoys the food at Sabigol Matjip, the food trucks, and the Goodtrae Market.”
