Uijeongbu City Holds Cultural Activities for Senior Job Program Participants

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) held a cultural activity for participants of the Senior Citizens Job Program from the Uijeongbu City branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association on the 18th.

View original imageThis cultural event was organized to recognize the contributions of the senior job program participants to the local community, encourage their hard work, and provide opportunities for emotional stability and leisure activities. A total of about 600 people participated.
The participants watched a movie at a local cinema and enjoyed time for social interaction, chatting with one another before and after the screening.
One participant said, "It felt new and enjoyable to watch a movie at the theater after such a long time," adding, "I am grateful that, in addition to participating in the job program, we are also given opportunities to enjoy cultural activities."
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "I hope this movie screening brings new energy to our senior citizens and adds vitality to their daily lives," and added, "We will continue to provide a variety of programs so that seniors can lead active and healthy lives in the future."
Meanwhile, prior to this event, the city, in cooperation with the Uijeongbu Senior Club, organized movie screenings for about 1,100 participants in the Senior Citizens Job Program from September 8 to 11. In addition, various cultural activities such as outdoor experiences and movie screenings are regularly held at least once a year through local agencies operating the senior job program.
