S-OIL Delivers 255 Million Won for Ulsan Doctor Car Operations and Donations for Neighbors in Need
S-OIL (CEO: Anwar Al Hejazi) delivered a total of 255 million won in support funds for the operation of the "Doctor Car" and donations for neighbors in need to Ulsan University Hospital and the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea at Ulsan City Hall on the afternoon of September 18.
On the 18th, Paek Bongsu, president of S-OIL, delivered a donation of 155 million won from the S-OIL Ulsan Welfare Foundation and a 100 million won sponsorship for the operation of the S-OIL Doctor Car to Jeon Yeongdo, chairman of the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea, and Han Myeongwol, deputy director of Ulsan University Hospital, at Ulsan City Hall in the presence of Mayor Kim Dugyeom. S-OIL provided 100 million won to Ulsan University Hospital for the operation of the "Doctor Car" and 155 million won to the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea as a donation for neighbors in need.
The "Doctor Car" is a specialized ambulance staffed by trauma specialists and nurses who provide treatment to patients during transport. This system can dramatically reduce the mortality rate of patients with severe trauma.
This support is expected to help secure the golden hour for Ulsan citizens and improve emergency medical services. In addition, the donation for neighbors in need will be used to provide 100 million won worth of rice to low-income households in Ulsan, and 55 million won to support organizations and facilities for people with disabilities.
The Doctor Car in the Ulsan region was first operated as a pilot program by Ulsan University Hospital in September 2017. However, due to a lack of operating funds, the service was temporarily suspended in early 2019. In April 2019, S-OIL provided 100 million won as part of its local community contribution program to help ensure the continued operation of the Doctor Car, which is directly linked to saving the lives of Ulsan citizens.
Currently, the Ulsan University Hospital Regional Trauma Center operates the Doctor Car with 10 trauma specialists and 10 nurses, saving precious lives in the Ulsan area.
Paek Bongsu, Chief Operating Officer of S-OIL, said, "Based on our core value of sharing, S-OIL supports neighbors in need in the Ulsan region and contributes to the development of the local community through various social contribution activities. We will continue to do our best to grow and coexist with the local community as a responsible company."
