BASF Launches Low-Conductivity Coolant for Electric Vehicles to Meet Chinese Market Demand
Meets New Chinese Safety Standards, Reduces Fire Risk
Produced at Pudong Plant in Shanghai, Supply Expansion in China
Global chemical company BASF has introduced a new low-conductivity coolant designed to enhance the safety of electric vehicle battery systems.
BASF announced on the 18th that it has launched 'Glysantin Electrified,' a low-conductivity coolant that meets the new Chinese industrial standards set to take effect from October. This coolant prevents excessive current flow when it comes into contact with high-voltage components, thereby reducing hydrogen generation. According to the company, it lowers the risk of battery overheating or fire and ensures long-term stability. It has also received certification from external testing agencies, including institutions under the Chinese Ministry of Transport.
