Combining Mobility Data with AI for an Integrated Mobility Platform
Expanding Partnerships for Data Services
A.Dot to Be Integrated into TMAP for Conversational and Natural Navigation

T Map Mobility, the operator of TMAP, has announced its ambition to evolve into an integrated mobility platform based on mobility data and artificial intelligence (AI). The company plans to expand partnerships utilizing data such as maps and traffic information, while also applying AI agents to develop into a conversational mobility service.

On the morning of September 18, T Map Mobility held a press conference at the SK Telecom press room in Jung-gu, Seoul, to share these plans. After shifting its business focus to data, T Map Mobility achieved a growth rate of 49.3% in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. In the previous quarter, the company recorded its first-ever positive quarterly EBITDA since its founding.

T Map Mobility announced plans to integrate over 7.4 billion accumulated mobility data points with AI, expanding into an AI-based integrated mobility platform. TMAP’s data-including maps, road networks, traffic patterns, and delivery information-is utilized across various industries such as logistics, energy, and finance. Services like delivery destination optimization for courier companies and train congestion prediction have been developed using TMAP’s data. Based on its accumulated data, T Map Mobility also plans to broaden its partnerships for analytics services.

The “Car Life” service, which links driving scores with insurance discounts, has increased its maximum insurance discount rate to 28.6%. Year-on-year revenue growth rates reached 49% in the first quarter and 35% in the second quarter. The personalized location recommendation service “Eodigalkka,” launched last year, recorded a cumulative 30 million visits by the first quarter of this year. The in-vehicle infotainment system “TMAP Auto,” which is approaching 1 million cumulative installations, achieved 82% growth in the second quarter compared to the same period last year.

Seoha Park, Head of Data & Innovation at T Map Mobility, stated, “T Map Mobility is developing into an integrated mobility platform centered on personalization and recommendations by combining mobility data with AI agents,” adding, “We plan to further strengthen both the scalability and sustainability of our data business while providing new experiences throughout the entire mobility journey.”

The company also presented its goal of evolving into a conversational mobility AI. Specifically, it will enhance AI-powered location search experiences, integrate AI agents based on large language models (LLMs), and add integrated AI mobility services. AI-driven location exploration will be strengthened by linking TMAP’s search, location details, and Eodigalkka services. Following the launch of the AI hashtag review service in July, an AI review summarization service will also be introduced.

For voice guidance, SK Telecom’s AI service “A.Dot” will be applied to understand and respond to users’ conversational context. Previously, TMAP’s voice guidance system was “NUGU,” but this will be replaced by A.Dot. With this update, new features such as route requests including stopovers, personalized guidance based on frequently visited locations, themed location recommendations, and traffic and lifestyle information have been added.

For example, if a driver says, “Let’s stop by a gas station and then go home,” the system recognizes both “home” as the destination and “gas station” as a stopover, providing the optimal route. Even if the driver gives an imprecise destination, A.Dot will automatically correct and suggest the intended location. Condition- or theme-based searches, such as “Find a cafe with parking” or “Let’s go to a restaurant with a nice atmosphere,” are also supported.

T Map Mobility also announced plans to equip TMAP with a chat agent. Jeon Changgeun, Chief Product Officer (CPO) of T Map Mobility, stated, “Based on the AI voice agent, we plan to introduce a chat agent within TMAP by 2026 and also install the agent in TMAP Auto.” He added, “A key feature is that these AI agents are not operating independently, but instead provide a unified experience by linking user data across agents.”
