Truck Driver in His 60s Killed After Being Crushed by Forklift at Icheon Logistics Center
A man in his 60s, working as a truck driver, was killed after being crushed by a forklift at a logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the police on September 17, the accident occurred at around 5:54 a.m. at a logistics center in Majang-myeon, Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, where a truck driver in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, was crushed by a forklift and died.
Mr. A was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest by emergency responders who arrived at the scene, but ultimately passed away.
The accident occurred during unloading work using a forklift by a beverage distribution company operating within the logistics center. It is reported that the forklift, while moving to load finished beverage products onto the truck, struck Mr. A, who was nearby at the time.
The police suspect that the forklift operator was driving with the lift loaded with goods raised and failed to see Mr. A, resulting in the accident.

The police are investigating the detailed circumstances of the accident and whether safety regulations were followed at the site. The Ministry of Employment and Labor has ordered a suspension of work at the scene and plans to examine possible violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
