Pyeongchang County to Hold "Odaesan Fir Forest Barefoot Healing Trekking Event" on the 20th
The "2025 Odaesan Fir Forest Barefoot Healing Trekking Event," where participants can walk barefoot among thousand-year-old fir trees and experience the breath of nature, will be held on September 20 at Odaesan in Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang.
The event features a round-trip course of approximately 2 kilometers, starting from Geumganggyo Bridge at Woljeongsa Temple, passing through the fir forest trail and Iljumun Gate, and returning to the Woljeongsa Temple parking lot. Anyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate without difficulty.
The participation fee is 10,000 won, and all participants will receive a commemorative gift worth about 10,000 won. In addition, those who register in advance will be provided with free parking at Woljeongsa Temple. Registration is open until 5 p.m. on September 18.
On the day of the event, a professional instructor will lead stretching exercises before the start, and a variety of cultural programs, including a popera performance, will be offered at the forest trail rest area.
In particular, the Odaesan fir forest trail is home to over 1,700 fir trees with an average age of about 83 years and some as old as 370 years. The trail features an accessible path made of red clay, making it an ideal route for barefoot walking. Surrounded by the phytoncides of the forest, the sound of the Odaecheon stream, and birdsong, participants are expected to enjoy healing and relaxation through all five senses.
