The Gangwon Provincial Government (Governor Kim Jin-tae) is making every effort to support water supply vehicles together with 17 cities and counties in the province to overcome the drought in Gangneung.

View original imageSince September 1, water transportation has been underway, delivering raw water from nine rivers in Gangneung, including Yeongokcheon and Sacheoncheon, as well as from Namdaecheon in Yangyang County to the Obong Reservoir. In addition, treated water is being transported from the Yeongok fire hydrant and nearby city and county hydrants to the Hongje Water Purification Plant.
So far, 58 water supply vehicles from 14 cities and counties have been deployed, supplying more than 700 tons of water per day and over 9,000 tons in total. Currently, each city and county is working to provide five additional vehicles, and if all participate, it is expected that approximately 1,074 tons of water can be supplied daily.
